A wealthy man and his son loved to collect rare works of art. They had everything in their collection, from Picasso to Raphael. They would often sit together and admire the great works of art.
When the Viet Nam conflict broke out, the son went to war. He was very courageous and died in battle while rescuing another soldier.

More than a smile

I walked past them and smiled. Nothing is cuter to me in the store than a mother and child shopping together. The mother was leaning over kissing the child on the forehead. It struck me immediately how beautiful and sad she was. When I smiled, the little girl noticed and smiled back while burying her head in her mom's shoulder. She was shy of a stranger noticing her.

Kyle

One day, when I was a freshman in high school, I saw a kid from my class was walking home from school. His name was Kyle. It looked like he was carrying all of his books. I thought to myself, "Why would anyone bring home all his books on a Friday? He must really be a nerd." I had quite a weekend planned (parties and a football game with my friend tomorrow afternoon), so I shrugged my shoulders and went on.

Things aren't always as they seem

Two traveling angels have stopped to spend the night in the house of one very wealthy family. The family was very arrogant and they didn't allow the angels to sleep in the guest room of their villa. They gave them a small space in the cold basement instead.
While they were unpacking their sleeping bags, the older angel looked at a crack in the wall and fixed it.
When the younger angel asked him why he did it, the older one replied that things aren't always as they seem.
